In September, the Transfusion 2024 team had the privilege of speaking at Congress, a key event hosted by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) predominantly aimed at the UK’s biomedical science workforce. The team shared insights into their ongoing projects, which aim to enhance the delivery of a safe and efficient transfusion service while positively impacting patient outcomes. Their presentations covered advancements in transfusion education and IT development.

A particularly poignant moment of the session came from our patient and public representative, who delivered a heartfelt account of her personal journey with leukaemia. She shared how her diagnosis shaped her future and led her to a meaningful role within NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT).

Additionally, the team presented several posters, with one—focused on RCI Assist—winning top honours. Well done team!
