Matt began working as a state registered Biomedical Scientist in 2012, working in several hospital Haematology and Transfusion laboratories in the Bristol area. In 2019 he moved to a role in NHSBT Red Cell Immunohaematology before switching over to an Assistant Quality Manager role supporting several NHSBT functions. During this time, he completed an MSc in Applied Transfusion and Transplantation.
Most recently Matt has worked as Lead Specialist with the Blood Stocks Management Scheme before taking on his current role as RCI Development Lead with the Transfusion 2024 team in October 2025.
Matt brings a varied mix of NHSBT and NHS experience and will be working to support the ongoing electronic requesting and reporting projects taking place between NHS and NHSBT laboratories.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with friends and family and playing football and padel tennis.
